Baby Shower Cake

Couldn't get this photo to rotate properly, my apologies....I only took a couple pictures, so this will have to do.
This cake was made for a baby shower I threw for my friend.  She is always stylish, even when she is 8 months pregnant, so I decided to do a "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" sort of theme, but softened it with lighter tones and feminine flowers....but as for the cake.....It was all embellished with diamonds, even the baby sandals.

Winter Wonderland Party

Below are some decorations from the "Winter Wonderland" themed party thrpwn for David.

The children joined in the fun and handcrafted snowflakes for the banner.

Peony/Hatbox Cake

I remember the wonderful sweet fragrance the Peony flowers provided the room when my mother had cut a bouquet from the garden and placed them on a dining room table in a vase.  The succulent flowers were one of my favorites from my father's garden as I was growing up, so they seemed like the perfect match for a simple and elegant cake for a special young lady.  I must admit that mine don't smell as nice or are as delicate, however they are edible.  I was quiet happy with the outcome and would definitely suggest the Peony flower as a perfect addition to decorate a wedding cake as well.

Simple Initial Cake

This cake was for my friend....simple and elegant just like her.  I played around a bit and enveloped the cake in a pale pink tulle to offset the flowers and added some diamond embellishments to enrich the effect.  The cake itself was a Tuxedo Torte soaked in quiet a bit of coffee liquor.

A Trip to Paris

This Cake was an impromptu gift for my daughter's friend.  Unfortunately their was very limited time and the suitcase did bot turn out as nicely as I would have liked....but the cake was divine.

Thomas the Train Cake

I had the pleasure of creating a Thomas the Train cake for my friend's son.  This was one of a kind, inside and out.  She chose every aspect of the cake, and I must reiterate myself once again.....I absolutely LOVE making children's cakes, they offer so much opportunity to use our own imagination.  Happy Birthday Kyle.

Okay, so I must confess....the tree took me almost 4 hours to complete to ensure the detail met my approval.  Some may think me nuts, but I loved every minute of it.

Valentine's Cupcakes

The Cupcake of choice this Valentine's Day were dark chocolate cherry with a milk
 chocolate ganache frosting.

Each of the teachers received a special gift handcrafted by each of my children, which was a floral topiary.  I am proud to say that their arrangements grace the teachers' desks to this day.

There were cupcakes galore...enough to feed each of my childrens' classrooms.

As for my teachers gift for v-day....I made each of them an individual sized Almond Torte.
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone.
