Penguin Cake

It was truly a "Winter Wonderland" birthday for a young little man turning "7" this past week.  Everything from the crisp cool air outside to the holiday decor inside filled the birthday with a sense of winter.  The penguin cake was very fun to do and with such a simple design, it matched the theme perfectly.  The cake was a Rafaello, which has a bot of a tart cream with fresh raspberries in the layers and is topped of with coconut flakes "aka" fake snow.  Also for this part we made German chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and an almond torte with delicate white frosting.  as you will notice there were few fondant elements as the birthday boy wasn't too fond of having too much sugar......now there is a smart 7 year old boy.  Enjoy the photos.....I will also post some pictures of the decor later.  Oh, and "Happy Birthday David.....we wish you all the best!"

Birthday Napolean

This cake was made for a special friend, Vida, who turned 75.  This is an amazing woman who has persevered in many trials and hardships throughout her life.  She is strong, loving and elegant all in one package....it is truly an honor to call her friend.  Happy Birthday Vida.....may you be blessed with many more happy and fruitful years.

Pumpkin Cupcakes & Thanksgiving Torte

This was a double sized sheet cake of the Tuxedo Torte made for a large Thanksgiving gathering.

Also for the Thanksgiving gathering we made pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and decorated them to match the fall decor.

The Count's Ruins Torte

This is a cake which consists of mini meringues delicately assembled with a butter cream on a plate to form a pile of ruins.  It is topped off which a chocolate syrup, dried plums and nuts for texture.  Great airy cake.  I made this for a customer as a special request, being it was their all time favorite cake.
